Alex Eala may have bowed out of the Canadian Open, but her deep run in Toronto came with a hefty payday and enough ranking points to keep her place among the world’s top 20.
The 21-year old tennis sensation pocketed $81,800, or about P5.01 million, and earned 120 ranking points after reaching the Round of 16 in Toronto.
Her campaign ended Sunday (Monday, Philippine time) with a 6-4, 6-0 loss to Belinda Bencic.
The Toronto payout lifted Eala’s 2026 prize money past $1.6 million, or roughly P98 million, from $1.54 million before the tournament.
Eala is expected to return to action next week at the Cincinnati Open.
