Chemrez Technologies Inc. managing director and Lao Foundation Inc. chairman Dean Lao Jr. led the recognition of the first graduates of the i-Volunteer: Service Out of Love Volunteer Development Program, an initiative aimed at encouraging employees to take a more active role in community service.

The awarding ceremony marked the completion of the foundation’s inaugural volunteer training program, which prepares employees to participate in its education, healthcare, livelihood, and community development projects.

Over five sessions, participants underwent training on social responsibility, community engagement, compassionate leadership, and volunteerism, with the goal of fostering a lasting culture of service within the organization.

Joining the event was Alfred Li, vice chairman of the Lao Foundation and chief executive officer of the Tzu Chi Medical Foundation, who encouraged the graduates to carry forward the spirit of volunteerism, saying that genuine service is defined by the sincerity behind every act of kindness.

Graduates shared how the experience reshaped their perspective on volunteer work and inspired them to become more involved in helping their communities.

For the Lao Foundation, the graduation ceremony marks the beginning of a long-term effort to build a growing network of employee volunteers committed to making a meaningful impact beyond the workplace.
