Gotianun-led Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) has turned over a 6,000-square-meter property in Bicutan to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), paving the way for a transport hub that will connect two of the Philippines’ biggest railway projects.
The land will be used for the construction of Bicutan Station, part of the 147-kilometer North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR).
The station will serve as an interchange between the NSCR and the Metro Manila Subway Project, allowing subway trains to operate on a portion of the NSCR line and improving rail connectivity between Clark, Manila and Calamba.
FLI said it will build the Filinvest Pedestrian Link, an elevated footbridge and covered walkway connecting its adjacent 6.5-hectare estate and future developments directly to the multi-modal transport hub.
“We believe that a progressive economy relies heavily on robust infrastructure,” FLI president and CEO Tristan Las Marias said in a statement.
“Our partnership with the DOTr for the Bicutan Station, which will be adjacent to one of our prime properties, is a testament to Filinvest Land’s commitment to building the Filipino dream by providing efficient and convenient transportation connections to potential urban growth centers and nearby residential areas,” Las Marias added.
The Bicutan-Sucat section, a 5.8-kilometer elevated segment of the NSCR, is targeted for construction completion in 2031, with full system operations expected by 2033. The government estimates the project will generate about 350,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and operations.
Filinvest Land, the property development arm of Filinvest Development Corp., has more than 280 projects nationwide, including large-scale mixed-use developments in Alabang and the Clark Freeport Zone.
