The daughter of Berjaya Corporation founder Vincent Tan has assumed full control of one of Malaysia’s largest conglomerates.
Billionaire heiress Nerine Tan has been named sole chief executive officer of Berjaya Corporation following the retirement of her co-CEO, Vivienne Cheng Chi Fan.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Berjaya described the appointment as the start of a “new chapter of leadership” for the group.
“As we move forward in 2026, a new chapter of leadership unfolds at Berjaya Corporation Berhad. At the helm is Ms. Nerine Tan, now serving as Chief Executive Officer, bringing clarity of vision and steadfast leadership as the Group looks to the future — building on strong foundations while setting a bold course ahead,” the company said.
Berjaya highlighted Tan’s more than 26 years of experience in sales, operations, marketing strategy, and business development, describing her career as one marked by resilience, strategic foresight, and a strong commitment to execution.
The company added that her leadership reflects a deep understanding of people, markets, and evolving business dynamics, with a focus on strengthening core operations, fostering organizational agility, and reinforcing the group’s ability to adapt in a complex business environment.
Berjaya expressed confidence that under Tan’s stewardship, the group will continue to grow and deliver sustainable, long-term value to stakeholders.
In her new role, Tan recently officiated the company’s Chap Goh Mei celebration at its corporate headquarters, marking the final day of Chinese New Year festivities and symbolically ushering in prosperity for the year ahead.
