US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson has announced that she will leave her post in January, bringing to a close three and a half years of service in the country.
Her family is set to depart on January 30.
“It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines — we have loved every minute of our three and a half years here! Thank you for the role you have played in making this assignment so rewarding and meaningful,” Carlson said in a message to friends.
Ending on a festive note, she added: “Aubrey and I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a healthy, happy New Year!”
