The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced plans to build a covered walkway linking Trinoma and SM North EDSA in Quezon City, following public outcry over the lack of a safe pedestrian connection between the two major transport hubs.

The project aims to improve safety for commuters transferring between the MRT and LRT systems, according to the agency.

In the long term, the walkway is expected to extend to Commonwealth Station, providing a seamless connection among MRT-3, LRT-1, and the upcoming MRT-7.
