Congressman Javi Benitez took to Instagram to roast—er, celebrate his dad, Bacolod Rep. Albee Benitez, on his 59th birthday.
“Happy 59th, Dad!” Javi wrote, joking that there’s “just one more year before the senior citizen perks kick in.”
He also gave a shoutout for his dad’s “priceless guidance,” proving it’s not all jokes in the family.
The post comes years after the Benitez clan made headlines for more serious matters. Javi’s mom, Nikki Lopez, had filed a VAWC complaint against Albee over alleged extramarital affairs, including one reportedly involving actress Ivana Alawi. The case was later dismissed for lack of evidence.
Despite the past drama, Javi’s birthday message shows there’s no lingering tension. It’s all smiles, laughs, and light teasing – a reminder that sometimes, family love wins, even after the headlines fade.
