Retail electricity supplier EvoEnergi, a member of the D&L Group of Companies, has brought together five Boracay hotels under a single retail-aggregated group now known as EVO Boracay.

The group includes Discovery World Boracay, Hue Hotels and Resorts of Luana Life & Style Leisure Inc., The Lind Boracay of Scottland Leisure Inc., and Ferra Premier together with Ferra Hotel & Garden Suites of JenGroup Leisure Inc.

With this partnership, the Boracay hotels have become the first retail-aggregated hotel cluster in the Philippines, formalized through a ceremonial signing event with EvoEnergi as their retail electricity supplier.

Collectively, EVO Boracay has a combined peak demand of about 1,360 kilowatts, meeting the criteria under the government’s Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) for facilities within the same business district.

This landmark partnership highlights the rapid adoption of the RAP, which has gained strong momentum in under two years since its launch. The program enables power consumers to pool electricity requirements to reach the 500-kilowatt threshold needed to participate in the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM).

“This is a historic milestone for Boracay and the hospitality industry as a whole,” said EvoEnergi President Julian Jacob Lao.

“The EVO Boracay Retail Aggregated Group is now empowered to take control of its energy costs, especially with its seasonal demand patterns. The resulting savings can go back into elevating guest experiences and making Boracay an even more attractive destination,” he added.

Erwin Peter Lopez, Hotel Manager of Discovery Boracay, said joining the Retail Aggregation Program alongside neighboring hotels gave them a “cooperative advantage,” allowing the group to work together toward lowering electricity costs and choosing more sustainable energy sources.

Dexter Ivan Lee, managing director of Luana Life & Style Leisure Inc., likewise thanked EvoEnergi for introducing the program and consolidating the hotels’ power demand to secure more competitive generation rates.

Meanwhile, Mervin Velasco, Group Director for Engineering of The Lind Hotels, emphasized that switching to EvoEnergi will help them better predict energy costs and manage resources, particularly given the seasonal nature of hotel operations in Boracay.
