Fintech firm Maya achieved group-wide profitability by December 2024, driven by growth in digital banking, payments, and lending.
This milestone cements Maya’s position as a dominant force in the country’s financial sector with over 125,000 credit cards issued in just six months.
“Achieving profitability at the group level while scaling rapidly underscores our ability to drive sustainable growth,” said Shailesh Baldwin, Maya Group president and Maya Bank co-founder.
Maya’s first credit card, the Landers Cashback Everywhere Credit Card, launched in August 2024, saw strong demand, with nearly 40% of cardholders being first-time credit users. Around 60% of customers are based outside Metro Manila, reflecting Maya’s efforts to expand financial inclusion.
As of end-2024, Maya’s banking customer base grew 71% year-on-year to 5.4 million, while its borrower base nearly doubled to 1.6 million.
Deposits surged 59% to P39 billion and cumulative loan disbursements reached P92 billion. The company also maintained its leadership in digital payments, holding the largest market share in card acquiring and QRPH transactions.
Beyond consumer credit, Maya expanded its business banking services, launching bill payment solutions and custom loan terms for small enterprises.
The company said it will continue scaling its credit and lending portfolio while enhancing enterprise solutions to support financial inclusion and digital banking adoption.
