ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines has expanded its data center capacity with the inauguration of an upgraded facility in Makati City.

The newly renovated Data Hall F of STT Makati, formerly known as Globe MK2 Data Center, marks a significant enhancement in the company’s infrastructure.

The facility now boasts a total IT load capacity exceeding 5 megawatts (MW).

Carlo Malana, president and CEO of STT GDC Philippines, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting digital futures globally.

“Our mission is to enable our digital future not only in the Philippines but across the world. Our reputation is built on delivering what we promise, a principle that remains central to our strategy. At STT GDC, we don’t just articulate our vision — we ensure that our partners and customers can count on us to execute with precision and reliability,” he said.

Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu highlighted the crucial role of data centers in powering digital services.

He added, “As we expand STT GDC Philippines, we get closer to our dream of turning the Philippines into a preferred location for hyperscalers in Southeast Asia, driving digitalization and uplifting the lives of Filipinos by creating more opportunities for them.”

Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility and STT GDC Philippines director, noted that the company aims to position the Philippines as a key regional data storage hub.

“As we see growth in the data center business, we are constantly on the lookout for ways that we can harness the synergies across the Ayala group to make sure that we’re positioning this as best as possible,” said Ayala.

Construction of STT Fairview and STT Cavite 2 is progressing as planned, with both projects initiated in 2023.

STT Fairview, expected to commence operations by 2025, will be the largest data center in the Philippines with a projected IT capacity of 124MW.

The facility will feature advanced connectivity, sustainability practices, and energy-efficient technologies.

STT Cavite 2, situated in the General Trias Business Park, will provide up to 6MW of IT capacity.
