Bilyonaryo Hans Sy took time off from his busy schedule to bond with children with Down syndrome at the largest ever “Happy Walk” held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
The chairman of SM Prime Holdings gamely posed for photos and videos at the March 24 event hosted jointly by SM Cares, SM Supermalls’ corporate social responsibility arm, and the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines (DSAPI).
SM has been supporting the Down syndrome community for the past two decades. This year’s Happy Walk, which aims to raise awareness for people with the genetic condition, had over 5,000 attendees.
SM City Bacolod and SM City Cebu also held their respective Happy Walks, which had a total of 1,500 participants.
Employees of SM gamely took part in the activities, along with advocates of inclusivity for people with Down syndrome.
