Jollibee’s 2024 kickstart: Common Man Coffee Roasters now brewing in Manila

Craving specialty coffee? Common Man Coffee Roasters from Singapore has made its way to the Philippines, courtesy of Jollibee Foods Corp., founded by bilyonaryo Tony Tan Caktiong.

The Jollibee group kicked off the year with the inauguration of its first Common Man Coffee Roasters (CMCR) cafe at Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City on January 11, aligning with its vision to secure a spot among the top five restaurant compies globally.

“Common Man’s consciously sourced coffee and numerous deliciously healthy brunch options contribute to this experience and help fulfill our mission of spreading the joy of eating to

everyone. We invite everyone to come visit our first ever Common Man Coffee Roasters café,” said Ernesto Tanmantiong, president and CEO of Jollibee Group.

In collaboration with the Spa Esprit Group, the store features its own roastery, offering a distinctive dining and sensory experience from 7 AM to 10 PM daily.

Founded in 2013, CMCR is dedicated to championing specialty coffee and offering the finest all-day brunch. It not only roasts and sells coffee beans but also operates the Coffee Barista Academy in Singapore and Malaysia, providing comprehensive coffee training to baristas and coffee enthusiasts.

The Jollibee Group, boasting 18 diverse brands, operates over 6,700 stores across 34 countries, including the Philippines, United States, Canada, the People’s Republic of China, United Kingdom, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, and Australia.

Its brands include Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, Yonghe King, Hong Zhuang Yuan, and Smashburger.

The group has four franchised brands such as Burger King, Panda Express, Yoshinoya in the Philippines, and Tim Ho Wan in specific territories in China.

It holds an 80% interest stake in The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, a 60% stake in the SuperFoods Group (owner of Highlands Coffee), and a 51% ownership in Milksha, a popular Taiwanese bubble tea brand.
