Isa-isa lang! Starbucks PH limits claiming of discount for PWDs, seniors

Senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) would have to plan their purchases at Starbucks Philippines stores to maximize the discount they’re entitled to under the law.

The Tantoco-owned local franchise of the global coffee chain announced that starting January 15, 2024, only one food item and drink per visit will be eligible for the 20% discount claimed by senior citizens and PWDs.

Those availing of the discount should present their valid senior citizen or PWD IDs at the counter. No proxies for claiming the discount are allowed.

The 20% discount and exemption from value added tax for senior citizens in restaurants is provided for under Republic Act 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 while the same perk for PWDs is mandated in accordance with RA 10754.
