The Gokongweis are stepping up the involvement of the family-run non-profit organization to improve the state of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in the country.

Bilyonaryo Lance Gokongwei recently signed an agreement on behalf of the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) with Vice President Sara Duterte, the concurrent education secretary. He was joined by his sisters, Robina Gokongwei-Pe, and Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, at the signing ceremony held at Crowne Plaza Manila.

Thousands of STEM teachers in public schools are seen to benefit from the agreement with GBF through scholarships, technical training and school donations.

This year alone, 30,000 teachers benefited from the technical assistance granted by the foundation for STEM education.

GBF is also providing scholarships to outstanding STEM students and giving awards to promising young scientists.
