British auditing giant EY has announced the appointment of Janet Truncale as its new chief executive from July next year, the first woman to head the group.
Truncale, 53, steps up from her role as EY’s head of financial services in the Americas, the group said in a statement issued late Wednesday.
She replaces Carmine Di Sibio, who has decided to retire a year early after a failed plan to split EY’s audit and consulting units.
Truncale will be the “first woman to lead the global organisation”, EY confirmed to AFP. — Agence France-Presse
