President Bongbong Marcos ended months of speculation by naming financial whiz Rafael “Joel” D. Consing, Jr. as the president and cEO of the Maharlika Investment Corporation (MIC).
The Presidential Communications Office announced today, November 13, the appointment of Consing who is currently Executive Director of the Presidential Adviser for Investment & Economic Affairs.
Consing retired as Chief financial officer of Internation al Container Terminal Services Inc. last January after 15 years.
Consing has been honored for his role at ICTSI, being a six-time recipient of the Corporate Governance Asia Award for Best CFO (Investor Relations) for Asia from 2016 to 2021.
Before joining ICTSI, Consing, a political science graduate from De La Salle University, was HSBC’s financing solutions group managing director. He previously worked at Bankers Trust Company, Aboitiz & Co., Inc., and Multinational Investment Bancorporation.
