The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has exceeded its collection target for September by 3.64 percent.
The BOC said it collected a total of P79.225 billion in duties and taxes for the said month, surpassing its goal of P76.445 billion by P2.78 billion.
From January to September, the BOC collected a total of P660.716 billion, exceeding its target of P644.185 billion by 2.57 percent, equivalent to P16.531 billion.
The BOC said that effective customs operations, increased trade activity, and rigorous revenue collection efforts were implemented under the current leadership, contributing to the BOC’s consistent collection performance.
The BOC recently collaborated with the Department of Trade and Industry, the Strategic Trade Management Office, and ARISE Plus Philippines to streamline customs procedures and enhance trade competitiveness.
In an effort to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the nation’s borders, the bureau conducted 730 anti-smuggling operations, resulting in the seizure of smuggled goods worth an estimated P35.963 billion, demonstrating the agency’s resolute commitment to intensify border protection and combat illicit activities.
