The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has granted approval for the issuance of a special allotment release order and a notice of cash allocation amounting to P50 million.
This allocation is designated for the implementation of the Farmers and Fisherfolk Enterprise Development Program.
Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman emphasized the government’s commitment to food security, highlighting increased funding for the Department of Agriculture’s pivotal initiatives.
In addition to supporting land-based agri-industries, the government aims to stimulate the growth of aquaculture.
The enactment of the Sagip Saka law has mandated the Department of Agriculture to adopt a comprehensive approach to enterprise development, with the goal of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among farmers and fisherfolk.
