Thai billionaire Anne Jakrajutatip denounced the use of the Miss Universe brand for a cryptocurrency launched during the Philippine Blockchain Week.
In a statement, the owner of the JKN Global Group said the company and Missu Universe Organization are not associated with the “Miss Universe Coin.”
Jakrajutatip said the Miss Universe cryptocurrency will never be tapped for any public voting systems in future pageants.
“To our fans – please use caution and do not join in this falsely-named coin scam! We are doing everything we can to shut this down publicly, so that our community is not victims of this fraud,” she added.
The Thai businesswoman said the company “will be pursuing all legal options” to deal with the copyright infringement.
