Not even the thick smog that enveloped parts of Metro Manila and Cavite stopped President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. from traveling to General Trias to visit multinational firm Unilever’s factory.
Marcos was the guest of honor at the opening of the Beauty, Well-Being, and Personal Care Factory on September 22.
The P4.7-billion factory was the fulfillment of the investment pledge that Marcos secured from Unilever in December last year.
Marcos said the factory is seen to create 5,000 jobs and spur economic development in Cavite.
““It is a truly welcome development for all our shared efforts to strengthen our manufacturing sector and, to ultimately, create jobs and gainful opportunities for our people. This manufacturing plant is projected to produce nearly 90,000 tons of various personal care products annually and this is to meet the growing domestic and export demand for Unilever products,” the President said.
