Tracking efficiency: Government achieves 93% cash utilization rate as of August

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) reported that the cash utilization rate of government agencies had reached 93 percent as of August this year.

This is slower than the 95 percent utilization ratio in the same period in 2022.

In the first eight months of the year, a total of P2.65 trillion out of the allocated P2.85 trillion in notices of cash allocation (NCAs) have been utilized.

This means that there is still P197.71 billion in unutilized funds for this period.

NCAs are disbursement authorities issued by the DBM to cover the financial needs of government agencies’ operations, programs, and projects.

A higher NCA utilization rate indicates the efficiency of line agencies in swiftly disbursing their allocated funds and implementing their initiatives.
