Globe Telecom is set to introduce its prepaid e-SIM by the end of the month, reaffirming its commitment to pioneering user-centric technological solutions.
This shift towards a digital-only model aims to eliminate the inconvenience of physical store visits or SIM card deliveries, ensuring a sustainable and efficient transition to eSIM technology.
“At Globe, we’re always looking ahead, anticipating the needs of our customers in an ever-evolving digital landscape. The prepaid eSIM captures our vision of a seamless, digital-first mobile experience, marrying innovation with convenience,” said Darius Delgado, head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.
The prepaid eSIM offers users the flexibility to install multiple eSIMs on selected devices, enabling the use of two phone numbers simultaneously. Additionally, it extends beyond mobile phones and can be used in devices like smartwatches, facilitating seamless connectivity under a single mobile number.
This technology is compatible with the Apple Watch cellular, allowing Globe Prepaid iPhone users to stay connected with just their Apple Watch, even without their iPhone.
By digitizing the SIM card process, eSIM technology reduces the need for plastic materials and logistics associated with physical SIM cards, thereby lowering carbon emissions.
