Filipinos 18 to 31 years old can go on an extended holiday in Australia and work short-term under a deal signed by the President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The Philippine government has entered into a partnership with Canberra for a “work and holiday” visa arrangement, which allows select Filipino nationals to secure temporary jobs while on an extended holiday in Australia or study there for up to four months.
The visa would be valid for a non-extendable period of one year.
To qualify for the visa, a Filipino applicant must have 5,000 Australian dollars (approximately P180,900) for the initial duration of their stay and enough funds to purchase a return airline ticket to the Philippines.
The work and holiday visa costs about 635 Australian dollars (P22,974).
Details on applying for the visa will be released in 2024.
