Local volunteer group to the rescue: Saving Benguet farmers’ lemons

Even though locally grown lemons from Benguet farmers have been rejected because of their natural green color and larger size, the local volunteer group Rural Rising is not letting the farmers’ hard work go to waste.

Scheduling a rescue purchase of 2 tons of lemons from farmers in Tuba, the group hopes to ease the farmers’ worries while also providing customers in Metro Manila with good-quality products at a fraction of the price.”

The group recently opened up its ordering channels and posted the price of P199 per five kilos of lemons.
