BTS continues to wield an unstoppable influence as Korea Mint Corporation unveils the second rendition of the official commemorative medal, featuring the likenesses of the Kpop superstar group’s members.
This tribute marks the 10th anniversary of BTS’s groundbreaking debut and its indelible impact on the global hallyu phenomenon.
The first commemorative medal, jointly released by Mint Corporation and Hive (under CEO Park Ji-won’s leadership), made its debut in December of the previous year.
The latest design employs an intricate technique, utilizing ultra-fine lines and dots, with sculptures as small as 10 micro centimeters, to meticulously capture the members’ portraits. The gold medal showcases the entirety of BTS, while the silver coins highlight individual member images.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to UNICEF to contribute to expanding the global impact of Korean culture for social causes.
“It is very meaningful to present a medal commemorating the 10th anniversary of the debut of BTS, who have become world-class artists, over two years. It will be an opportunity to publicize its value as a high-quality cultural art object,” said Ban Jang-sik, president of Korea Mint Corporation.
