Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP), a joint venture between the Ty family and Japanese auto giant Toyota Motors Corp., recently commemorated a momentous achievement – its 35th anniversary.
Leading the celebrations were bilyonaryos Arthur and Alfred Ty alongside TMC chairman Akio Toyoda and TMP president Atsuhiro Okamoto.
The event drew an audience of around 600 prominent individuals including First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa, Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) chairman Manny V. Pangilinan and Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. president Sabin Aboitiz.
Also present were MPIC head of Government Relations and Public Affairs Mike Toledo as well as representatives from the Philippine government, local suppliers, and dealers.
“We dedicate this celebration to the generations of Filipino Toyota customers who have embraced the Toyota brand and became Toyota’s brand ambassadors…To thank our customers for this milestone and to give them a glimpse of our exciting future together, we are treating them to exciting and unforgettable activities this month to kickstart our 35th year,” Okamoto said.
To kick off the anniversary month with impact, TMP is launching a novel Toyota nameplate, expanding its lineup of electrified vehicles.
Marketed as its “Most Affordable Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) yet,” TMP aims to revitalize the electrified sector with the introduction of the All-New Toyota Yaris Cross HEV.
