A former writer of “Eat Bulaga” has demanded a halt to TAPE Inc.’s use of a segment he conceptualized for the show.
Jerricho Sison Calingal said in a lengthy Facebook post that he has filed an application for copyright registration for “EB Happy” with the Intellectual Property Office.
“How can i prove that its my IP? I have screenshots, conversations and original scripts to back it up,” Calingal wrote.
He explained that he came up with the title when he was hired in early July to write for “Eat Bulaga” following the departure of the Dabarkads, or the show’s long-time hosts.
However, Calingal said he was asked to leave the show after a conflict with the head writer.
He said he has reached out initially to ask TAPE to change the title of the segment, to no avail.
