A nephew of the late taipan John Gokongwei has been given a more significant role in the family’s holding company.
Patrick Henry C. Go has been named executive director of JG Summit Holdings. The son of Gokongwei’s brother, Henry, has been on JG’s board since 2000 but as a non-executive director.
In his new position, Go will collaborate closely with his cousin, Lance Gokongwei, who serves as JG Summit’s president and CEO.
Together, they will work on the firm’s executive committee and strategic planning.
Go is the president and CEO of JG Summit Olefins which has piled up a total of P19 billion in losses from 2020 to 2022.
The 52-year old Go is also EVP of Universal Robina Corporation and heads its packaging division. He is also a director of Robinsons Land Corporation, Robinsons Bank and Meralco Powergen. He is a trustee and treasurer of the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation.
