Bilyonaryo Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala is grateful for the chance to share acclaimed Filipino painter Juan Luna’s long-lost masterpiece with the public.
The Ayala Corp. chairman shared a close-up photo of “Hymen, oh Hyménée!” on Facebook as a way of inviting the public to see it.
The painting, which is part of Leon Gallery owner Jaime Ponce De Leon’s private collection, is on display at the Ayala Museum in Makati.
“Ayala Museum is privileged to be home to one of Luna’s masterpieces until December 2023,” Zobel de Ayala shared.
Luna’s oil painting, which is also called “Boda Romana” or “Roman Wedding,” won the bronze medal in the 1889 Universal Exposition in Paris.
