The daughter of bilyonaryo Felipe Gozon has denied that his father’s law firm is representing “Eat Bulaga” producer TAPE of the Jalosjos family in its ongoing legal battle with the show’s original hosts Tito, Vic & Joey (TVJ).
In a Facebook post, GMA Network senior vice president Annette Gozon said: “Ano ba yan Bilyonaryo? Ok lang if you write your journalistic opinions on current issues, I would still respect that as part of freedom of speech.”
“But when you include details that are FACTUALLY UNTRUE, parang may bad faith na yon eh. To correct this article Belo Gozon law firm is NOT the law firm of Jalosjos/Tape,” she added.
Bilyonaryo.com reported that Gozon’s law firm – Belo Gozon Elma Parel Asuncion & Lucila Law Offices – “is the legal counsel of Jalosjos.” Bilyonaryo.com expresses its apologies to the Belo Gozon Elma Parel Asuncion & Lucila Law Offices.
Anette explained that getting ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” for the noontime slot of the network’s sub-channel, GTV, was a “business decision.” The show will compete directly with TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga” replacement which has struggled in the ratings since TVJ and their co-hosts abandoned the Jalosjos firm. TAPE’s blocktime agreement runs through the end of 2024.
“We think that the more good shows there are on noontime, the better it is for the Filipino viewers,” said Annette in an interview with The Philippine Star.
