Same but different: Joey De Leon gives ‘Eat Bulaga’ a twist amid trademark battle

Comedian Joey De Leon has seemingly found a way to continue utilizing the name, “Eat Bulaga!” despite the trademark battle he and partners Vic and Tito Sotto are in with production firm TAPE Inc.

De Leon recently mentioned “EAT (Eto Ang Tunay) BULAGA” in an Instagram post higlighting the TVJ trio’s “47th or 48th year” as noontime show hosts.

TVJ and the Dabarkads, or former long-time hosts of “Eat Bulaga,” are set to debut in a new noontime show on TV5.

TAPE Inc., which produces “Eat Bulaga,” claims ownership of the brand despite De Leon’s role in coming up with the iconic name.

TVJ and TAPE Inc. executive Tony Tuviera filed their own trademark application for “Eat Bulaga” earlier this year.
