In a surprising twist, Lopez-led ABS-CBN has announced its decision to relocate its long-running noontime program, “It’s Showtime,” to GMA’s GTV channel.
The move comes amidst a series of programming changes happening at TV5.
Recognizing the significance of the noontime slot and the valuable connection it has fostered with its audience, ABS-CBN declined the 4:30 pm time slot offered by TV5 for “It’s Showtime”. Instead, the network has chosen to forge a new path.
Starting July 1, “It’s Showtime” will find its new home on GTV, airing from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon. The program will be simultaneously broadcasted on multiple platforms including A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC, ensuring widespread accessibility for its dedicated viewers.
While ABS-CBN makes this significant transition, the network also expressed appreciation to TV5 chairman Manny V. Pangilinan for the partnership that brought “It’s Showtime” to a wider audience.
Bilyonaryo.com earlier reported that the popular noontime slot on TV5 would be taken over by the iconic trio Tito Vic, and Joey.
Meanwhile, despite some mixed reviews, the Jalosjos family’s TAPE Inc. continues to broadcast “Eat Bulaga” with temporary hosts under their existing block time contract with GMA, extending until the end of 2024.
As the TV wars continue to unfold, audiences can expect even more excitement and surprises in the battle for ratings supremacy.
