The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) has urged the public to exercise caution when encountering suspicious offshore gaming job offers.
In collaboration with relevant government agencies, Pagcor has been actively investigating reports of unscrupulous groups utilizing social media platforms, dating apps, and messaging applications to lure unsuspecting individuals with fraudulent employment opportunities in the offshore gaming industry.
“The job postings, usually looking for prospective Customer Service representatives with experience in cryptocurrency trading, entice unsuspecting victims with high-paying jobs and numerous attractive benefits only to find themselves being used in scam activities,” Pagcor said.
“Online dating services and cryptocurrency investments are not part of the authorized acts of offshore gaming licensees and service providers,” the gaming regulator said.
Pagcor said that any information on these unauthorized activities may be reported to the POGO Hotline 0927-8098610 or info@pagcor.ph.
