The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) announced the implementation of tougher regulations and sanctions on erring licensed offshore gaming operators and accredited service providers.
Jessa Fernandez, Assistant Vice President for Offshore Gaming Licensing at PAGCOR, said the gambling regulator has joined the newly established Clark Security Advisory Council to combat illegal offshore gaming activities in the Clark Freeport Zone of Pampanga.
Fernandez pointed out the gravity of the consequences that await those who would be found enabling unauthorized entities to utilize their granted licenses or accreditations. Such infractions will result in harsh penalties, including the revocation of licenses or accreditations.
Meanwhile, Agnes Devanadera, president and CEO of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), disclosed that the CDC board has approved the recommendation to halt the processing of new lease or sub-lease applications by offshore gaming operators.
“The CDC will no longer process or approve the operation of any incoming overseas
gaming, even if they already have license from PAGCOR,” she said
As of now, PAGCOR has four remaining accredited service providers and one licensed offshore gaming operator inside the Clark Freeport Zone.
Prior to the establishment of the Clark Security Council, PAGCOR has revoked the provisional accreditation of Sun Valley Clark as an offshore gaming hub due to its failure to ensure lawful and orderly conduct within its registered sites.
