NLEX Corp. announced over the weekend that it has obtained clearance from the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) to implement new toll rates starting June 15.
The approved adjustments include an additional P7 toll in the open system and P0.36 per kilometer in the closed system.
The recently approved toll rates for NLEX have successfully passed through rigorous regulatory reviews and approvals. These adjustments form part of the authorized periodic revisions mandated for NLEX in 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2020. A
As part of this authorization, the TRB has granted permission to NLEX to implement the fourth and final tranche of the 2012 and 2014 periodic adjustments in the current year. Additionally, NLEX will be allowed to collect half of the increases stipulated for 2018 and 2020.
This decision is aimed at minimizing the impact of these adjustments on expressway users and addressing the existing inflationary conditions.
As part of the newly introduced toll fee matrix, vehicles traversing the open system of NLEX will now be subject to additional charges.
For Class 1 vehicles, which include regular cars and SUVs, an extra fee of P7 will be imposed. Class 2 vehicles, comprising buses and small trucks, will incur an additional fee of ₱7, while Class 3 vehicles, encompassing large trucks, will face an increment of P19. It is important to note that the open system extends from Metro Manila, specifically Navotas, Valenzuela, and Caloocan, up to Marilao, Bulacan.
On the other hand, the closed system pertains to the section stretching between Bocaue, Bulacan, and Sta. Ines, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, which includes Subic-Tipo.
