Globe Telecom extends 5G coverage to over 97% in key regions

Ayala-led Globe Telecom expanded its 5G roaming service to cover a total of 67 countries and territories worldwide as part of its commitment to providing its customers with seamless and high-speed connectivity.

Among the newly added destinations to Globe’s 5G footprint are Austria, Malaysia, Macau, the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Vatican City, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Russia, and the Northern Marianas.

The company has also partnered with more international telecom operators such as T-Mobile, Digi, CTM, AT&T, Windtre, EE, Megafon, Docomo Pacific, Slovak Telekom, Salt and MEO.

Globe has been at the forefront of 5G technology deployment in the region. In 2019, Globe made history by becoming the first operator in Southeast Asia to commercially launch 5G AirFiber, bringing the power of 5G connectivity to homes.

In the first quarter of 2023, Globe deployed 66 new 5G sites, bringing the total number to 74 cities and towns nationwide. This expansion has resulted in a remarkable increase in 5G outdoor coverage, with 97.21 percent of the National Capital Region and 90.28 percent of key cities in Visayas and Mindanao now enjoying the benefits of Globe’s 5G connectivity.
