TAPE Inc. executive and Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos has appealed to viewers to support the revamp of Eat Bulaga after a falling out with its original hosts led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
The new “Eat Bulaga” lineup started work on Monday (June 5), days after the TVJ trio and all fellow hosts of the longest-running noontime show tendered their resignations on May 31. The new hosts under the old “Eat Bulaga” show include Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, and twins Cassy and Mavy Legaspi.
“For all the bashers, sana naman po bigyan n’yo naman po ng pagkakataon ang mga talents namin na ipakita naman po, mapasaya ang mga taong-bayan during this time,” TAPE Inc. chief finance officer Bullet Jalosjos told CNN Philippines.
“Wala po kaming hangarin kung hindi magbigay saya sa ating mga taong-bayan at manonood,” he said on Wednesday.
“If the people want to watch the old TVJ then they can always look into that channel, pero kung gusto nilang makakita ng mas bago, mas masaya, mas energetic — new faces, they can go back to EB,” Jalosjos added.
