A female traveler has taken to social media to express her frustration with Cebu Pacific after both of her roundtrip flights to Manila from Dumaguete were cancelled without prior notice.
Facebook user Maki Van Eker said she almost missed her board exam when Cebu Pacific cancelled her flight in early May.
“You cancelled my flight 3 weeks ago which almost made me miss my board exam, from May 1st, you said the next available flight was May 5th,” Eker said. “But here’s the funny thing, my aunt from Australia managed to book me another flight the next morning, the one you said was fully booked. Only thing is it costs about FOURTEEN THOUSAND PESOS!!!” she fumed.
“The audacity to bump off passengers who booked their flights MONTHS ago only to sell it to people who are willing to pay more due to emergencies or in my case… My board exam!,” Eker wrote in a now viral post.
The passenger thought the worst was over for her after boarding a flight to Manila, but she experienced another setback when it was time for her to fly to Dumaguete.
“Fast forward to today… I went to the airport super early, checked in online, I already have a boarding pass and everything was OK… Til I reach bag drop counter and was told my flight is cancelled… And that my new flight is on the 26th of May!!! I couldn’t believe it! Again?!,” she said.
Eker said the Gokongwei-owned budget carrier did not offer any compensation or a place to stay since she would have to wait another six days for the new flight.
“I couldn’t help but curse and really show how frustrated I was!! HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO PAYING CUSTOMERS TWICE IN 3 WEEKS?!!!!,” she added. “Mga hayop! Wala man lang empathy! After lining up for 7 hours ang maibigay nyo tubig at magic flakes?! Yun na yon?!” she said, urging Cebu Pacific to improve their customer service instead of being fixated on profits.
