Users of Grab Philippines are up in arms over its policy of charging P50 to passengers for GrabCar bookings that were cancelled due to drivers’ tardiness.
Publicist Jun Lalin took to Twitter to vent his ire at the management of the services app.
“Why will I pay your driver P50 fee kung hindi naman siya makontak at hindi siya dumating after almost 30 mins at hindi siya moving sa map sa app n’yo? This is unfair,” he wrote. “Gaano karaming P50 ang kinukuha n’yo sa mga kawawa at walang kalaban-laban na consumers n’yo?”

It appears that Grab’s policy has been in place for quite some time.
Your driver is not moving, not replying, not answering my calls. Now I am late, poor service & very unprofessional. After all the hassle, Grab charged me 50php cancellation fee, amazing job @grabph! 😑 #SCAM pic.twitter.com/rIDyHv2E4k

seriously @grabph you charged me 50php for cancellation fee because the car doesn’t want to go in front of my house and you want me to walk 6 blocks away???? 160 na lang nga babayaran ko tas yung cancellation fee halos kalahati? oh come on you can do fucking better than that

Grab enjoys a virtual monopoly of the car-hailing space with the exit of its rival, Uber, in 2018.
