Shake it up: MVP names Danny Yu as PLDT’s new CFO, Luis Renon as new audit chief, Marilyn Victorio-Aquino as new director

PLDT is undergoing a major makeover at the top.

The PLDT board, chaired by bilyonaryo Manny V. Pangilinan, has formalized the appointment of Danny Yu as chief financial officer and chief risk management officer, effective May 4.

Yu is a senior vice president of PLDT and has been acting as the firm’s group controller since November 2022, when the P48 billion spending overrun was exposed.

The board also promoted Luis S. Renon, senior vice president and internal audit chief, as Pangilinan moves to tighten the telco giant’s purchasing.

With the death of longtime director Albert Del Rosario, the board elected Abogado Marilyn A. Victorio-Aquino as a director, effective May 8.

Victorio-Aquino is an SVP and has served as the company’s chief legal counsel since 2018.
