The Philippines held on to its position as the leading center for Information Communication in Business Processing Management (IT-BPM), according to Ateneo School of Government senior research fellow Nadia Doytch.
Doytch credited the ranking to major investments from the US from 2003 to 2021 amounting to some $7.8 billion, owing to its skilled workforce.
In an interview with Inside Outsourcing, Doytch recommended that the local industry must not rest on its laurels and instead continue to elevate the level of its workforce through trainings.
The BPO industry has also expanded its market to Cebu where Cebu Chamber of Business and Industry (CCCI) president Kenneth Charles Co cited the thriving job market because of the benefits offered by BPO firms. This includes competitive salaries and conducive working environments.
