President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. extended his condolences to the family of the late diplomat and PLDT Group board director Albert del Rosario. He was 83.
“I join the entire nation in mourning the passing of former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, an honorable diplomat and an esteemed public servant,” Marcos said in a statement released by the Presidential Communications Office.
“I extend my deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of Secretary del Rosario, who was known for his patriotism and integrity,” he added. “We thank his deep commitment to our national interest and his unwavering devotion to our shared values.”
Del Rosario served as Philippine ambassador to the United States under President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and as Foreign Affairs secretary of the late former President Noynoy Aquino. He supported former Vice President Leni Robredo’s candidacy in 2022.
