Globe on track to complete $150M submarine cable network in the Philippines

Ayala-led leading digital solutions platform Globe is set to complete its $150-million Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network (PDSCN) project by next month.

In collaboration with Eastern Communications and InfiniVAN Inc., Globe is working to enhance the existing telecommunications infrastructure in Zamboanga City by deploying the country’s longest submarine cable network.

The project aims to lay 2,500 kilometers of fiber cables across the country’s key points, targeting unserved and underserved areas to improve both mobile and broadband connectivity.

Since its inception in July 2022 in Subic Bay, Zambales, the project has successfully reached 33 landing sites nationwide, passing through Kinoguitan in Misamis Oriental and Camiguin Island before arriving in Zamboanga City.

Globe’s District Business Head for West Mindanao, Ian Valencia, emphasized the project’s significance, saying it is a testament to the company’s commitment to providing Filipinos with world-class network infrastructure.

Valencia added that expanding fiberization efforts would improve the quality of mobile and broadband services, meeting the growing demand for reliable connectivity.
