Ayala Group’s electronics manufacturing arm, Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc (IMI), has announced a strategic manufacturing partnership with Zero Motorcycles, a California-based manufacturer of electric motorcycles.
IMI said the partnership will involve the full assembly of Zero Motorcycle’s electric motorcycle models, as well as other modular assemblies, in IMI’s facility in Laguna, in conjunction with the American firm’s manufacturing facilities in Scott’s Valley, California.
Zero Motorcycles is a world leader in electric motorcycles and power trains.
Mass production of the electric motorcycles is expected to begin as early as the second quarter of 2023.
IMI chief executive officer Arthur Tan said the partnership aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting growth and sustainability efforts while providing high-quality manufacturing services
Zero Motorcycles CEO Sam Paschel said the partnership would allow the company to efficiently scale up to meet the rapidly growing demand for its products and improve customer delivery and satisfaction in the fast-growing EV market.
