Former BSP deputy governor Cyd Amador joins PNB board as independent director

Maria Almasara Cyd Tuaño-Amador, a former deputy governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, is poised to join the board of directors of the Philippine National Bank, taking the place of Federico C. Pascual.

In a regulatory filing, PNB revealed that Tuaño-Amador was included among the 15 nominees for the board for the years 2023-2024, and will serve as one of the five independent directors alongside Edgar A. Cua, Isabelita M. Papa, Wilfrido E. Sanchez, and Domingo H. Yyap.

Having previously acted as the OIC of the BSP following the passing of Governor Espenilla in 2019, Tuaño-Amador’s formal election to the board is expected to take place during the bank’s annual stockholders’ meeting on April 25.

Meanwhile, Pascual, who became an independent director in 2014, will continue to serve as the bank’s chairman.
