The approval of the inter-agency committee on inflation and market outlook by President Marcos Jr. on Tuesday was met with approval by the Makati Business Club, which expressed their hopes that the government would take action against profiteering.
MBC executive director Francisco Alcuaz Jr. commended the government’s pro-active approach in strategizing against inflation, citing it as the largest threat to the country’s economic recovery, job creation, and cost of living, with causes that are both global and local.
Alcuaz hopes that the government will address not only normal supply and logistics issues, but also immoral and illegal profiteering.
He further added that the government’s efforts to organize its resources to combat inflation are a confidence booster.
