Janica Lao is known as the restaurant heiress because of her family’s numerous ventures in the food industry.
From learning from her father and managing her dad’s established food empire, she has also ventured on her own and started several successful restaurants like Beard Papa, Milk Tea Boba Girl, Spanish resto PERROCHIKO and another new venture in December.
She admitted that things have not always been successful but she has never been scolded by her dad for failing.
“There’s a lot. In the past three… four years that I’ve been working with him. it’s always like, ‘Pa, paano pag hindi naging successful?’ Sabi niya, hindi nga basta try mo lang and then let’s see. It’s always like that, it’s always been like that. And basta, do this, as long as you do that, kung mahulog ka, saluhin kita,” she said.
“And he’s gonna be like, ‘No, it’s okay, at least you learned, It’s a good lesson for you.’ Because he doesn’t know how to teach talaga like, ‘I give you this, this is what you do.’ But it’s mostly learn from experience.”
She said that she is fortunate that she is able to learn from experience, and from observing her father and the way that he deals with people and businesses.
