Ultra bilyonaryo Manny Villar has signed a joint venture agreement to deepen his partnership with one of Japan’s biggest urban developers.
Villar, who made his first foreign trip since the pandemic broke out in 2020, signed the JVA with Mitsubishi Estate Co. Ltd. senior executive officer Yutaro Yotsuzuka on February 10 with President Bongbong Marcos as the key witness.
According to Villar’s Vista Land & Lifescapes, the JVA will focus on the development of its land intended for horizontal and vertical residential projects, office buildings, and commercial and retail estate projects.
VLL and Mitsubishi has a 60-40 condo project along Taft Avenue which started in 2019. This is Mitsubishi’s first residential project in the Philippines.
Aside from Marcos, present during the signing were Villar’s son, Senator Mark, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo Jr., and Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene Garcia-Albano.
