A store selling home accessories and goods from Japan will accept onions as mode of payment for one day.
A branch of the Japan Home Centre chain of stores is riding on the sky-high onion prices to promote sales and increase foot traffic in one of its branches.
Japan Home’s store in Panay Avenue, Quezon City announced it will be accepting onions as a mode of payment on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
One in-store item is valued at one onion, a piece of which costs about P50 or even higher. It’s for a worthy cause, too.
“Every customer has a limit of 3 item purchases only. All collected onions will be used in our community pantry,” the retail store said.
Time to fill your pockets with onions!
