San Miguel Corp. is poised to bag the contract to build the P27 billion Cavite-Batangas Expressway as no bids were submitted to the provincial government of Cavite.
The Cavite government declared the competitive selection process a failure after the prospective bidder snubbed the Cavite-Batangas Expressway project.
“Despite adequate information and time given to all prospective bidders, no competitive proposal was received by the PPP-Selection Committee before the bid submission deadline, which was set on January 24, ” the Cavite government said.
“Adarlo Caoile and Associates Law Offices as the representative of an undisclosed challenger registered as candidate JV partner and had paid the corresponding participation fee,” it added
Cavite earlier received and approved the unsolicited proposal from San Miguel Holdings Corp., the infrastructure unit of SMC, for the financing, design, construction and operation of the 27.06-kilometer Cavite-Batangas Expressway.
The project will traverse the municipalities of Silang, Amadeo, Tagaytay, Indang, Mendez, Alfonso in Cavite and Nasugbu in Batangas.
